A pedestrian in his 40s has died following a crash in Colne. Police were called at around 1.05pm yesterday (Tuesday, June 1) to reports of a collision on Regent Street between a van and a pedestrian. Emergency services attended and sadly the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Sgt Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police's Tactical Operations, said: "These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with the man involved and his family at this sad and very difficult time. "Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and anybody who saw it and has not yet spoken to police is asked to get in touch on 101, quoting log number 723 of June 1."
