THE bank holiday weekend has brought summer with it and forecasts show it will continue into the rest of June.

Today, the temperature will remain at 22 degrees all the way to the evening, giving everyone the perfect bank holiday weekend.

With temperatures set to reach 23 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, it will slightly drop by Thursday to 19 degrees and to 17 degrees by Saturday in Blackburn with Darwen.

But, this is still warm enough to sit in the sunshine and the rest of June looks to be full of sunshine, with some rain showers also predicted by the Met Office.

A statement by the MET Office said: "Rather mixed conditions expected at the start of the period, with a good deal of fine weather around although equally cloud and outbreaks of rain tending to gradually work its way in from the west."

Thunderstorms are also on the way in June, accompanied by hot conditions.

But by the end of June, temperatures are predicted to drop particularly in the North West.

A statement by the MET Office said: "There also remains a risk of thunderstorms, especially in the far east and south-east, accompanied by very warm or hot conditions.

"Otherwise, temperatures will tend to be nearer the seasonal average, warm in the sunnier spots.

"Into the following week, a trend towards more settled and dry conditions overall, at least for a time, but both how quickly this arrives and how long it lasts are both very uncertain, with an increasing chance of unsettled conditions with wind and rain for north-western areas by the end of the period."
