STAFF at a Specsavers have recently completed training with Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, in a bid to help improve their customer care and knowledge.

Workers at Specsavers Accrington have been keen to improve the store’s service and care level for all its different types of customer, so proposed the course to help the team gain a deeper understanding of non-visible disabilities and how best to support.

Jodie Conroy, Specsavers Accrington store director, said: “Living with a hidden disability can make daily life more demanding, but sometimes it can be difficult for others to identify, acknowledge or understand the challenges someone may face.

“This training has really helped the team gain a deeper understanding of hidden disabilities and we now feel collectively more confident to support our customers and colleagues living with a hidden disability."
