A mobility store has enlisted the help of Boris Johnson to help with a new campaign to encourage people to get a vaccine.
Modern Mobility located opposite the Bus Station is offering people a free wheelchair to get around if they travel into town to get a vaccine. And passers-by may have spotted Boris Johnson holding up a placard in front of their store.
Tom Bousfield from the store told us: “The dummy certainly gets people’s attention.
“We just wanted to encourage more people to get vaccinated so we can stave off another local lockdown.
“If people are coming into the town centre they are welcome to use one of our wheelchairs. We thought people may be coming into town and then may struggle to get around.
“We just need two forms ID from hirers.”
The Boris lookalike was put out on Friday but has only made a rare appearance due to the weather.
“We kept him out when it was not raining but he doesn’t like getting wet. It ruins the suit.”
