A DRIVER who was recorded travelling at more than twice the speed limit will now appear in court.
At around noon on Monday morning, an operative inside a safety camera van captured a driver reaching speeds of 71mph on a stretch of road in Huncoat.
The designated speed limit on the road is 30mph.
A Lancashire Road Safety Partnership spokesman said: “Around lunchtime today one of our safety camera vans was enforcing on Lower Gate Road in Huncoat, a 30mph road. One driver was detected at 71 mph.
“There are no excuses for driving at this speed. The driver will shortly be invited to explain their actions in court.”
