From Lower Cockcroft to Bent Gap Lane here’s a look at where you might find the strangest street names in Blackburn and Darwen.

First up is Chicken Street which is located next to Going Outdoors, Bank Top and is home to Lancashire Windscreens and well, nothing else really. It is off Throstle Street - in case you are still wondering where on earth it was.

To find Bent Gap Lane you have to drive along Wensley Road from the town centre and take a right at the Lion Hotel. It is on a bend if that helps. And runs all the way up to Downham Street.

Just off Barton Street and near the new Reel Cinema is Lower Cockcroft which is best described as an alleyway trying to pose as a street. The Rumali Restaurant is based here as is a hairdressers.

Anyone looking for Shakeshaft Street will need to head to Audley and then on to Mary Street.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Bent Gap Lane and Chicken Street

Cypress Ridge might sound like a place where they may film an old western but in Blackburn it is to be found close to Livesey Branch Road and near Pinewood.

To find the street named Honey Hole in Blackburn you will have to head off down Haslingden Road and take a left off Rockcliffe Street. For those not in the know ‘honeyhole’ is slang for a location that yields a valued commodity or resource.

If you don’t know where the wonderfully named Top O Th Croft is then you aren’t from Blackburn. Situated a stones throw away from Ewood this has a fantastic view of the stadium itself.

In Lower Darwen Bog Height Road links Earcroft and Feniscowles.

Goose House Lane actually runs parallel to Blackburn Road through Darwen and is a much better drive I am told.
