FOUR proud mums are celebrating extra special deliveries after they gave birth in Burnley General on Christmas Day.
Four babies were born at the hospital and Fauzia Ahmed, from Prarie Crescent, Burnley, gave birth to the first Christmas baby at 3.18am.
The baby girl, who has not yet been named, is the third child for Fauzia and husband Shafiq, who runs a newsagent's.
Fauzia said: "We don't celebrate Christmas but it's still very special for her to be born as the Christmas baby here and have the title of the first one."
Caitlin Mackenzie Turner just made it as a Christmas Day baby, being born at Burnley General at 11.40pm weighing 6lb 10oz.
Mum Kelly Turner, 35, a housewife from Brunshaw Road, Burnley, said: "We thought she was going to be a Boxing Day baby, but she decided not to be.
"We weren't tempted with a festive name, though we did think about Holly for a while, and considering her timing, it would have been very apt."
Zoe Parker, 23, a support worker from Bold Street, Accrington, gave birth to first child Oliver Mosses weighing 7lb 13oz at 8.16am at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
She said: "He was due on December 16 and had to be induced.
"We didn't really want him on Christmas Day, and next year I think I'm going to change Christmas Day to Boxing Day so that Oliver can have a separate birthday and Christmas.
"We didn't choose the name because of Oliver Twist, we deliberately avoided that.
"Oliver is good for throughout the year."
