Leftover remains of a cannabis farm have been dumped on moorland in East Lancashire.
Police were alerted to the fly-tipping earlier this week, when they received reports that several black bin bags had been callously dumped just outside Briercliffe near the Thursden Valley.
Officers from the rural taskforce went to examine the bags and found the remnants of numerous cannabis plants, with investigations leading them to suspect the remains had come from somewhere in Manchester.
A spokesperson for the police said: "East rural taskforce have been dealing with a report of fly-tipping in the rural area of Briercliffe near to the stunning Thursden Valley.
"The waste is remnants from a cannabis cultivation with initial examination suggesting a possible link to Manchester.
"The rural task force will be following up enquires but also linking in with Burnley Council to arrange for this eyesore to be removed."
