TWO men who crashed as suspected stolen car into a tree are being hunted by police.
The men were seen fleeing a green L registration Ford Fiesta after it crashed into at tree and tipped onto its side at around 9.50pm on Boxing Day outside Unity College, Todmorden Road. Burnley.
A resident called police after seeing the car crash and witnessed the men heading towards the Spar shop, with one helping the other who seemed to be injured.
Firefighters were called to the scene to disable the engine and clean up a petrol spill by the car. Police believe the car which was traced back to Stockport could have been stolen.
Inspector Rob Campbell, of Burnley police, said: "A search of the area has been carried out and we have not found any clues to identify the driver or the passenger.
"The car was reported missing on December 15 but was then later retrieved on December 19. We believe the car may have been stolen again.
"Anyone who may be able to identify the driver and the passenger or shed any light on the incident we would urge to contact us."
The men are described as white males with one wearing a white t-shirt.
