ADDITIONAL appointments for vaccinations have been made available by a local health trust.
Lancashire and South Cumbria Intergrated Care Service says that the appointments can be booked at Preston's St Johns Shopping Centre vaccination service in Preston.
Covid-19 Vaccination Director for Lancashire and South Cumbria Jane Scattergood encouraged people to come forward.
She said: “Due to the popularity of the Vaccination Centre at Preston’s St John’s Shopping Centre there are now additional appointments available for this week.
“If you are aged 40 and over and have not yet received a first dose of the lifesaving Covid-19 vaccination you can book an appointment online via our Local Booking System.
"The vaccination is simple, effective and provides vital protection against the virus.”
The service says that residents can only use this service if they:
- Are aged 40 or over
- Are at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)
- Are an eligible frontline health or social care worker
- Have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
- Have a learning disability
- Are a main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirus
The appointments are for the AstraZeneca vaccine and so are only available to people aged 30 and above and are first dose appointments.
