Sixty three knives have been recovered from a knife amnesty box.
Police in Burnley have emptied the knife bin on Centenary Way and found that within the space of a month, 63 knives, including a machete, a samurai sword and a spoon were deposited in the bin.
The knife bin has been placed in the town as part of a national knife amnesty scheme.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Sixty three knives were recovered from the town centre knife bin this month.
"This is all part of the national knife amnesty scheme together with Operation Sceptre which is an anti-knife crime campaign.
"These knives were placed in this specific knife bin on Centenary Way.
"A good amount have been recovered and potentially a fantastic amount taken from the streets."
