AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man was stabbed outside a Blackburn pub.
The incident, which happened between 10.40pm and 11pm last night, followed an argument in the Fountains pub, Accrington Road, involving a small group of about three to four men.
The argument, which spilled out onto the street, led to a 41-year-old man from Blackburn being hit in the face with a glass.
He left the scene and returned a short time later when he was attacked again by three men who punched him and kicked him before one of the men stabbed him under his left shoulder blade.
The man was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where his condition is described as comfortable.
DI Andy Hulme said: "This was a nasty attack on a man who was enjoying a night out with his wife and I urge anyone with information to come forward."
Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident and are being questioned by police.
Witnesses are asked to contact the police on 0845 1 25 35 45 quoting log reference number 328eq/231207 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
