THE owner of a cat rescue service is appealing for donations to help over the festive season.
Maureen Savage of Moggies Cat Rescue based in Stansfield Street, Darwen, has 14 cats and 15 kittens in her care.
She said this is one of the largest numbers of felines in her care for this time of year and is asking for donations of cat or kitten food and litter.
Maureen runs the service from her home.
She said: "I take on cats which people don't want anymore but normally I do not have as many to look after over Christmas.
"I have taken in a lot more kittens and cats this year and have offered free neutering to owners to help reduce the numbers next year.
"But I need help this Christmas.
I usually start rehousing them after the new year. I want to give the cats and kittens a nice Christmas." To help, call Maureen any evening on 01254 708171.
