A WILD fire broke out close to a reservoir yesterday evening.
The blaze occurred on Wednesday April 21 around half a mile from Hurstwood Reservoir, near Worsthorne in Burnley, with fire crews arriving on the scene at around 7pm.
There the firefighters from Burnley found a grass fire underway.
They were able to use three pumps and two wild fire units from Rawtenstall and Bacup to bring the fire under control.
Crews then used a water bowser to make sure the area was safe and remained on the scene for around two hours.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
