Fri 7th Dec saw about 100 people attend the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony which took place on the junction of Station Rd, Altham Lane and Lowergate. In addition to the Mayor switching on the lights, this year the tree is accompanied by one of the super scarecrows made by Huncoat Youth Action Team from recycleable materials.
Following the lighting everyone moved into the Methodist Church Hall for an excellent Christmas Carol Concert provided by Huncoat Primary School Choir. Refreshments were provided by the Area Council and served by members of Huncoat Neighbourhood Project.
It was a super Community activity that was very well supported.
