A PRAM-PUSHING mum says she was left "sickened" after a serial sex pest indecently exposed himself.

Police have now released an e-fit of the man they believe has been responsible for flashing to seven women in Burnley.

The incidents, involving victims aged between 16 to 85 years old, took place in Piccadilly Road, Coal Clough Lane and Cog Lane.

The 23-year-old, who asked not to be named, said: "I was walking up Piccadilly Road towards the post office and he was stood next to a car in one of the back alleyways pleasuring himself. I had my three-year-old son in the pram.

"I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was in shock, it was very distressing to see something like that. I tried to hurry past so my son wouldn't see and he shouted at me. He then said something even more obscene before I could get past.

"I rushed to the post office and called the police from there.

"An old lady said the same thing had happened to her but he'd offered her money.

"It was horrible, it made me feel absolutely disgusted. I was concerned for our safety because who knows what he could have been capable of."

Police believe the man is local and could have travelled into Burnley from surrounding towns such as Accrington or Blackburn.

All the incidents happened on Monday between 9.20am and 10.15am.

Detective Constable Steve Charnley, of Burnley CID, said: "The incident seems to have been isolated to one morning where seven women have seen this man masturbating in public.

"Witnesses say he spoke with a local accent. It may be that he has travelled into Burnley from a neighbouring area such as Blackburn, Accrington or Ribble valley.

"He has used vulgar language towards the females which has been very distressing for them. The victims are varied in age from a 16-year-old girl to a young mum with a child up to an old woman in her 80s.

"There's no violence involved but the behaviour is completely inappropriate and I would appeal to anyone who recognises or knows who this man is to get in contact."

The offender is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, stocky to fat build, possible facial stubble, speaking with a local accent, driving a small light green or aquamarine coloured car.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Burnley CID on 01282 472240 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
