A RAIDER who smashed his way into an chinaware shop left blood at the scene and was bleeding from his hands when police caught him.
Burnley magistrates heard Rafiq Mohammed Shaban, 33, had been captured on town centre CCTV after members of the public alerted the police and the cameras zoomed in on him.
Shaban, who used a brick in a pillowcase to break into Tubs, Albert Road, Colne, left a near £600 trail of damage, breaking the window and its display, furniture, plates and figuerines.
The defendant, of Cleveland Street, Colne, admitted burglary and abtracting electricity, on October 29. Shaban, who has 38 previous convictions for theft and similar offences, was given a community order with 18 months supervision and a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement. He must pay £50 compensation.
