INVESTIGATIONS are underway to determine the cause of a fire which broke out at a mill last night.
Forty firefighters from Blackburn, Darwen and Hyndburn were called out to deal with the fire at Bastfield Mill on Beech Steet.
A call was received from a member of public at 9:22pm to say that the roof of the mill, home to Oval World wallpaper coverings, was alight.
Six pumps were sent out to tackle the blaze, which is believed to have started in the roof.
The crews used two sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a jet as well as the area ladder platform to access the roof area.
Nobody was believed to be inside the mill at the time of the fire.
