A NURSE got behind the wheel more than three times the drink drive limit, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates heard Janet Cronshaw, 48, went out without thinking after work to have a drink and had learned a "salutory lesson" from her conduct.
She had given a breath test showing 111 microgr-ammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
The defendant, of Hill Crest Avenue, Burnley, admitted drink driving on November 30. She was given a community order with 100 hours unpaid work, was banned for 28 months and must pay £65 costs. She had no previous convictions.
Richard Taylor, defending, said Cronshaw, was a former staff nurse at Burnley General Hospital and now worked with an agency.
, had taken time time off to care for her mother who later died. She then signed up with an agency.
The solicitor added:"This is the first time she has been before the court and it has very much been a salutory lesson for her. She has been extremely anxious about her appearence here."
