AN East Lancashire building supplier is seeking to add three new job-creating buildings to its base.
Concrete Solutions has opted to expand its operations on the Moorfield Industrial Estate in Altham rather than move.
It has applied to Hyndburn Council for planning permission to develop three light commercial buildings.
A Design and Access Statement with the application says: "The business has rapidly grown and has outgrown its existing set-up and requires urgent additions within the site to keep up with the demand.
"As the company is growing rapidly and the existing premises are restricting the growth of the company.
"It is for this reason that Concrete Solutions have had to embark upon the construction of additional units to house plant, machinery and raw materials.
"Concrete Solutions is committed to retaining its presence within the local borough, and has resisted the opportunity to re-locate outside the borough’s area and move to premises in neighbouring towns.
"It is on this basis that the planning application for the additional units has been lodged to help with the expansion of the business.
"The light commercial buildings will be constructed in a concrete blocks to emulate the existing building structure with corrugated roofing sheets over.
"The proposed development represents an appropriate employment development within the built-up area that will have no wider impacts upon the character and appearance of the locality.
"An increase in local workforce would reinforce and underpin the viability of local shops, services and facilities."
