The creator of Bob the Builder called in at West Craven High Technology College to inspire budding animators and cartoonists.
Curtis Jobling, who designed the BAFTA-winning BBC show and also worked on Wallace and Gromit, gave a talk and held workshops in drawing, creative writing and animation at the Barnoldswick school.
Mr Jobling also showcased his forthcoming BBC TV series, Frankenstein's Cat, which has been adapted from his successful book of the same name and features the voice of comedian Joe Pasquale.
Mr Jobling said he believed in inspiring people to follow their interests from a young age.
He said he was first inspired to take up animation as a child after watching the famous "fighting skeleton" scenes in Jason and the Argonauts.
"I always knew I wanted to work in animation, but as it turns out I've been lucky enough to work in illustration and publishing as well," said Mr Jobling.
