Over 50 members of Darwen Amateur Swimming Club received awards at a presentation and family disco evening. The event which was held at the Bridge Street Sports and Social Club on Friday 30th November saw swimmers rewarded for their efforts in the recent Age Group Competition. The annual event had to move venues, for the first time in many years, as the pool at Darwen is currently closed for redevelopment. The group, who train up to 4 times a week, at the Bank Hey Pool, are looking forward to getting back into the new pool at Darwen. As an instructor with the club, I feel very proud of the children who received the awards, as their hard work and determination has been worthwhile. The event was enjoyed by all who attended.
