AS tributes pour in for Captain Sir Tom Moore, he is being honoured around the country.
Following the sad news of Captain Sir Tom Moore's death today, Blackpool Tower has lit up blue in tribute, with the words God Bless Captain Sir Tom running through the heart in the centre.
A statement from Lancashire County Council said: "The flag at County Hall will be lowered this evening as a mark of respect to Captain Sir Tom Moore who has sadly died. RIP Sir Tom, you touched our hearts."
Thousands have this afternoon paid tribute to the nation hero, who was diagnosed with the coronavirus on January 22.
Sir Tom set raised money for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.
He eventually raised more than £32 million, while his target was just £1,000.
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said the thoughts of the Queen and the royal family were with the military veteran and his family.

Information released on behalf of Sir Tom’s family revealed he tested positive for Covid-19 on January 22 after returning home from hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
A statement said Sir Tom was tested regularly for Covid-19 between December 9 and January 12 and each test returned negative.
