A LORRY was set alight while the driver slept in a layby on the A56.
The lorry was parked up before the Huncoat turnoff.
The driver alerted to the blaze by another wagon driver at around 5.30am.
Firefighters said the curtain-sided lorry was left badly damaged.
It was carrying bales of paper being taken for recycling.
The blaze is being treated as suspicious, although firefighters are not ruling out an accidental cause.
