POLICE carrying out a compliance visit at the home of a registered sex offender discovered banned software on a device.
Blackburn magistrates heard David Vickers Blackburn was prohibited from having anything that could delete his internet browsing history.
Blackburn, 70, of Greenway Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual harm prevention order by downloading the CCleaner application. He was committed on bail to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced on March 22.
Gill Kennaugh, prosecuting, said the order had been made in 2018 after Blackburn was convicted of possessing indecent images of children.
Police discovered the prohibited software when they carried out a routine compliance visit.
She said when the police attended Blackburn made admissions to having suicidal thoughts.
Waseem Choudhary, defending, said his client had mental health issues which would have to be assessed before he was sentenced.
"I have spoken to him today and he says there are no issues as far as suicidal tendencies'," said Mr Choudhary.
