POLICE have named a "loner" who died a month after an alleged attack.
Ronnie Walker, 56, of Hareden Brook Close, Audley, Blackburn, was found at his house on November 15.
He had suffered head and rib injuries and police said he had been assaulted.
Officers are still trying to piece together the circumstances surr-ounding his death.
The results of a post mortem examination yesterday morning came back inconclusive.
Police are now awaiting the outcome of toxicology tests to establish an exact cause of death. Mr Walker died at Royal Blackburn Hospital, where he had been in intensive care, at 7am on Wednesday.
Det Insp Jill Johnston said: "Ronnie didn't have any family or friends.
"He lived alone and didn't work.
"Inquiries are still ongoing to establish what happened.
It could be that he had died of natural causes but we won't know that until we get the results of the further post mortem tests back."
l James Maguire, 22, of Baldwin Street, Black-burn, was charged with wounding following the incident.
