DETECTIVES are hunting a man in connection with a violent attack on a woman.
Detectives have named Martin Lacey, 34, from Blackburn, as the man they want to talk to He is wanted in connection with an unprovoked attack on a 40-year-old woman and police are appealing for help in finding him.
The incident happened at 10.15am on November 2 when the woman was seriously assaulted in Hancock Street, Blackburn.
She was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for a facial injury.
Police are urging anyone with information about Lacey's whereabouts to contact them immediately.
Det Con Paul Harwood said: "I would like to reassure members of the public that this was not a random attack and appears to be an isolated incident committed by a man who was known to the woman.
"Clearly this was a violent and vicious assault and it is vital that find this man as soon as possible.
"The woman was left with serious injuries and extremely frightened.
"I urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of Lacey to not approach him but to contact the police immediately."
Lacey is described as 34 years old, 5ft 9insl, heavy build, with thinning short hair.
