Coronavirus infection rates are decreasing in all but one of Rossendale's seven areas.

Analysis of the Government’s Covid-19 infections map shows that the rate has only increased in Haslingden, after 73 new cases were reported in the area in the seven days to January 18, taking the infection rate there to 696.4 per 100,000 people.

Of the places with an decreased rate, Crawshawbooth, Reedsholme and Water recorded the biggest drop, after the infection rate fell by 60.3 per cent in the seven days to January 18.

Townsend Fold and Edenfield, Helmshore, Bacup, Rawtenstall, Waterfoot and Stacksteads, and Crawshawbooth, Reedsholme and Water now have infection rates lower than 670 cases per 100,000 people.

The national average rate per 100,000 people in the seven days to January 18 is 421.3.
