A MAN has admitted a sexual grooming charge involving a child from East Lancashire.
Steven Bennett, 31, of Woborrow Road, Heysham, pleaded guilty to a charge of meeting a child, following sexual grooming.
The charge states that between February 11 and March 1 this year he travelled, with the intention of meeting the 14-year-old, having on at least two occasions had communication with the child.
The victim is from the East Lancashire area and the case was adjourned to January 16 for a pre-sentence report to be drawn up by the probation service.
He was remanded on bail following his appearance at Preston Crown Court.
Judge Edward Slinger told him "You must understand that all sentencing options remain open, including a likelihood of an immediate custodial sentence."
Bennett was also told that he will have to sign on the sex offenders register.
