A BURGLAR who breaks into people's houses, steals their keys and then crashes their cars is behind bars for 29 months after his latest escapade.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Scott McLarrie, 20, had a bad record and had been given both community orders and prison.
He was released in July last year but was back inside this September.
The defendant, of Mansfield Grove, Brierfield, admitted aggravated vehicle taking and burglary.
The defendant, who had spent 98 days on remand and will serve his time at a Young Offenders' Institution, was banned from driving for two years.
Sentencing, Judge Beverley Lunt told the defendant he was going to spend an awful long time in jail if he carried on as there would be no more supervision orders or unpaid work.
She added: "Its prison, prison, prison, and they will necessarily be longer sentences."
