PENDLE Council is appealing for residents to nominate spare land or derelict sites in need of redevelopment.
The council's new Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment is a study which looks at all the sites in Pendle's towns and villages where new homes could possibly be built in the future.
It will also show which sites are best placed to meet local needs and considered first if, or when, there is a need for new housing in the future.
Coun John David, who is responsible for planning in Pendle, said: "This detailed study has helped us to discover over 200 vacant sites where it may be possible to build new housing in the future.
"I would encourage everyone who cares about the environment to take a look at the study to make sure we have got it right."
