A RIBBLE Valley road has re-opened after investigations were carried out about a man's body being found.
Officers were called to the scene on the A59 close to Chatburn at 8.45am this morning.
The road was closed for five hours while police were at the site.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "The A59 close to Chatburn has now reopened after a man's body was found in the carriageway.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family at this sad and difficult time."
Earlier posts on social media were warning motorists to avoid the area.

The road has been closed in both directions after the body of a man was found in the carriageway.

A Ribble Valley Police spokesman said: "Emergency services have attended with the man sadly pronounced dead at the scene."
