TWO people have been charged with the murder of Nigel Scott.

Mr Scott died in hospital on Monday after being found in a Blackburn street critically injured on Sunday.

Daniel Butler, 32, of Walker Street, Preston and Marina Westlund, 26, of Clarendon Road East, Blackburn, have been charged and are due to appear before Blackburn magistrates.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Following enquiries and after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service two people were charged last night with Mr Scott’s murder.

“Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.”

Officers were called at 10.05am by the ambulance service on Sunday to reports a man had been found unconscious on the pavement in Clarendon Road East in Blackburn.

Mr Scott, 58, a father-of-four from Preston, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries but died on Monday.

His family paid tribute to him earlier in the week.
