NON-LEAGUE clubs are celebrating the news that home fans will now be allowed to watch step 3-6 games in Tier 3 areas.
The Government initially announced that supporters would not be permitted to attend matches in the places covered by the tightest coronavirus restrictions when the country came out of lockdown at the start of the month.
That guidance led to both the Northern Premier League and North West Counties League delaying their restarts until Boxing Day and December 19 respectively.
Now however home supporters are being allowed to attend immediately with attendances capped depending on the level the game is being played at, numbers having been halved from the opening weeks of the campaign.
For the Northern Premier League Premier Division crowds will be capped at 300 and in the North West Division it drops to 200. Both tiers of the North West Counties League will be able to have crowds of up to 150.
Those numbers double should areas move from Tier 3 to Tier 2 with the next Government review due on Wednesday.
