A MAN attacked his partner within two months of being given a suspended jail term, Burnley magistrates heard.
Damian Fegan, 33, punched victim Jeanette Catlow in the eye after they had a row and she had set off to tell her mother what he was like.
Fegan told her: "Show her this as well" and assaulted her, the court heard.
The defendant, who had earlier been given 28 days in prison, suspended for six months, for police assault, admitted assault.
Fegan, of Spencer Street, Burnley, was given a two-year community order with supervision and the suspended sentence was extended by six months. He must also pay £200 compensation and attend the domestic violence programme.
Bill Maude, prosecuting, told the court both the defendant and victim had been to the Derby pub in Burnley and had argued.
He claimed Miss Catlow attacked him, he pushed her away and he accepted he slapped her with the back of his hand.
