A unique lighting system has been unveiled at the 160-year-old Blackburn Town Hall.
Low-voltage LED lights illuminate its 12-column façade, providing dramatic colour changes, ranging from pure white to more creative combinations of vivid colours.
The whole system costs under £50 a year to run. Coun Michael Law-Riding, Blackburn with Darwen executive member for leisure and culture, said: "This is a prominent town centre site which is heavily used by pedestrians.
"The illumination will be effective when viewed from a distance and also by people using the square."
