A suspicious flat fire in the early hours of today is being investigated by police and the fire service.
Police alerted fire crews to a fire in a ground floor flat in Selkirk Street, Burnley, at 1.20am.
When firefighters arrived it was believed there was someone in the first floor flat but no one was found.
There was no one in the ground floor flat. The lounge, a mattress and bedding were destroyed in the fire.
Fire crews were at the scene for an hour and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
