UPDATED: United Utilities have now repaired the leak on Noggarth Road and water should be flowing again.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “The water went off at around 11.30am this morning due to a burst water main on Noggarth Rd.
"Our engineers were quickly on the scene and we managed to repair the pipe and restore water supplies by 1pm.
"We thank residents for their patience while we dealt with this issue today.
"We have discovered another small leak nearby and we will be carrying out further repairs in the next few days.”
SOME residents in Fence are currently without water due to a burst water main.
United Utilities are currently dealing with the incident on Noggarth Road, Fence which has seen some people without water and others with just a trickle coming through their tap.
Engineers are on the site after the incident was recorded at about 12.45pm and will update residents when the repair is complete.
On their website, a spokesperson for United Utilities said: "You may have noticed that your water has gone off or it’s coming out your tap in a trickle. We’ve been out to investigate and found the cause to be a burst water main on Noggarth Road.
"We’re sorry for the inconvenience, our leakage engineers are currently on site and we hope to have your taps flowing again very soon. We’ll provide further updates when the repair is complete."
