JUNIOR brainboxes starring in a Sky One quiz show owe their smart appearance to an East Lancashire company.

Clitheroe-based schoolwear specialist Trutex has supplied blazers for the channel's hit show Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old?

Hosted by Noel Edmonds, the show pits adults against some of the country's brightest youngsters, challenging them with questions on subjects spanning the National Curriculum, which any 10-year-old should be able to answer.

Adults are put to the test as they work their way up the cash prize ladder for an ultimate reward of £250,000.

The contestants must choose whether to gamble on their own knowledge or ask the help of one of their young classmates.

Those who lose have to say: "I am not smarter than a 10-year-old."

Trutex, which supplies school uniform to retailers all over the world, provided 50 badged royal blue blazers featuring the show's logo for the children on the show, which is broadcast on Sundays at 6pm.

The Taylor Street firm was approached by the show's producers in summer when the pilot was being made.

Daniel Tomlinson from Trutex said: "I think they came to us because we one of the largest independent suppliers and have such a big range of badged blazers in sizes, and we do separate ones for boys and girls which not many other firms do."

The producers asked for 50 in a range of sizes and styles, for the show's 15 resident whizzkids.
