PLANS for a Tesco supermarket in Colne have been thrown out by councillors.
The supermarket giant wanted to build a store on the site of Glen Mill, North Valley Road.
But councillors unanimously rejected the plans, saying they feared the 35,000-square foot supermarket would have taken up to nine per cent of trade from the town centre.
After the meeting last night, the developer acting for Tescos said a fresh planning application addressing some of the concerns may be submitted in the coming weeks.
