An evening of 'Dialect Poetry' will be presented by Darwen Local History Society, with resident poet Jim Atherton.
Jim is well known in the area for his witty and sometimes sarcastic (in the nicest possible way) dialect poetry and dittie's.
Jim will be reading his poetry and joining in with the evenings other entertainment a Christmas Quiz, a picture quiz, raffle and jacob's join so bring along a friend and some food for a traditional night out.
This is Darwen Local History Societies last meeting of 2007, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the society and hope that you can join us for our spiecial evening.
The event takes place at the Bridge St Sports & Social Club (former ICI club) at 7.15 on 17th December, 2007. Disabled access, members free, visitors £2.00. Everyone Welcome!
