OVER 300 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across East Lancashire over the weekend.
Blackburn with Darwen, the place with the highest covid-19 infection rate in England, saw 159 people test positive for the virus over Saturday and Sunday.
According to Government figures, a total of 6,637 cases have now been reported in the borough.
Hyndburn recorded the second highest number of new cases, 49, bringing the total number of people infected in the area since the start of the outbreak to 2,548.
Next up is Burnley where 36 people tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend. A total of 2,263 people have now tested positive in the borough.
In Pendle there were 33 new cases with a further 32 in the Ribble Valley. The cases there stand at 3,298 and 1,422 respectively.
The fewest new cases were reported in Rossendale where just 28 new cases were discovered.
A total of 2,176 people have now tested positive for covid-19 in the borough since March.
