Blackburn MP Jack Straw opened new town centre restaurant Roma, in King William Street.
The stylish eaterie, which specialises in Italian and Portuguese cuisine, was formerly Tiggis and Papa Luigi's.
It is the brainchild of Portuguese-born Fernando Sousa, who owns two establisments in Lancaster; Johnathan French, founder of Lancashire-based digital marketing company Fat Media; and Michael Doran.
Mr French said: "We want this to be something very special, catering for business lunches and providing a really fun different social scene in the evenings."
