A MAN who attacked his friend and then kicked in his door was given a community order.
Burnley magistrates heard how Darren Laycock, 22, punched victim Shaun Haworth as he thought he was making disparaging remarks about him.
He then followed him home and kicked in the glass panel on the front door.
Laycock, of Leyland Road, Burnley, admitted assault by beating, damage and possessing cannabis resin on November 15.
He received an 18-month order with supervision and the addressing substance-related offending programme.
Sue Campbell, prosecuting, said the incident happened when the defendant was with friends at a house in Burnley.
Mr Haworth was lying on the floor when the defendant threatened to boot him, grabbed hold of him by the jacket, got him to his feet and started swinging punches at him. The victim was caught twice on his right cheek.
John Nuttall, defending, said Laycock, already subject to a community order, had had a few drinks. He apologised to the victim and the court.
