More than of 80 per cent of a local authority which employs 44,000 workers have recorded 100 per cent attendance.
Lancashire County Council said sickness levels between June and September had fallen after measures were introduced to improve the attendance of staff.
The number of working days lost for each full time employee in the last quarter was 1.81 days compared to 1.94 days in 2006.
