A mother woken by banging on her door in the early hours of the morning heard another woman shouting threats towards her daughter.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Jenna Glenda Garvin repeatedly kicked Sheila Cheetham's front door and then smashed two windows.
And the court heard that at one stage Mrs Cheetham had her foot against the bottom of the door to prevent it bursting open as she phoned the police.
Garvin, 22, and her sister Victoria Nadene Woodburn, 34, both of Meadow Head Close, Blackburn, both pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour.
Garvin was found guilty of assaulting a police officer after a trial. Garvin was made subject to community supervision for 18 months, ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work, pay £100 compensation to Mrs Cheetham and £150 costs. Woodburn was ordered to do 60 hours unpaid work, pay £100 compensation and £100 costs.
Isla Chilton, prosecuting, said there were several children in the house when Garvin began banging on the door at 2.35 am.
She heard Garvin shout; "Does Amanda live here, get her outside I'll rip her head off."
Sian Hall, defending Woodburn, said the situation had all started because her client became aware that Mrs Cheetham's daughter may well be involved in a relationship with her husband.
