A DARWEN businessman's new venture opened at the weekend to the popping of champagne corks.
Vassilis (Vass) Vassiliou, of Mangiamo, Bolton Road, opened a new restaurant and wine bar, the Latino Lounge, in the former Royal Oak pub at Bradshaw Brow, Bolton.
The Royal Oak has been refurbished at a cost of £450,000.
Vass, 38, a Greek Cypriot, is joined in the venture by his girlfriend Claire Lucas and Halil (Eric) Orhanli, the manager of Mangiamo who lives in Darwen.
Vass and his team will continue to run Mangiamo but, he adds: "We hope all our Darwen friends will come to visit us at the Latino Lounge".
