MOUNTAIN rescue and search teams continue to look for a missing man who was last seen 10 days ago when leaving hospital.
The police, along with mountain rescue teams have been carrying out extensive searches in the Darwen and Belmont area for missing Zbigniew Strzelczyk, 59, who was last seen leaving the Royal Blackburn Hospital on October 16.
This weekend, rescue volunteer and search teams were combing the area around the A666 in a bid to trace the much-loved father and husband.
A spokesman said: "Today (Sunday) we have been supported by our colleagues from mountain rescue and mountain rescue search dogs. Over 30 volunteers carried out searches in the area of A666 towards Belmont, an extensive area of ground was covered on foot by extremely experienced and dedicated people. We would like to thank all our partners and local residents for their support in this missing person enquiry.
"We would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to everyone in the Darwen/Belmont area to continue to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings in the event he has taken shelter. If you have any dashcam footage or CCTV that you may think is relevant please contact us on 101."
