A BLACKBURN nursery has been praised by Ofsted for providing a good start for its children.
Greenview Nursery in Green Lane, was found to offer a good provision in every category assessed.
Set up in 2003, the privately-owned nursery caters for children up to the age of five in a purpose-built unit.
Following a visit last month, inspectors commended the healthy meals and daily physical activity children get, and the good progress they make thanks to a wide range of activities and good quality teaching and learning which gives children a positive attitude to learning.
The report added: "Children behave extremely well in response to the calm and consistent responses from staff", and "are developing a positive attitude to others".
Proprietor Laura Knowles credited her nine staff with the glowing report.
She said: "The nursery was one of the first Neighbourhood Nurseries Initiatives to be opened in Blackburn.
"I'm extremely pleased with the report and cannot praise my staff too highly - it is a credit to the professionalism and enthusiasm."
