PUPILS from Darwen Vale High School and Engineering College took part in a student challenge to use software to design, test and manufacture miniature CO2-powered balsa wood Formula One cars.
Now in its eighth year, the F1 in Schools Formula One Technology Challenge is seen as a platform for introducing Formula One to a global teen demographic.
It is open to any school with access to a computer. Darwen Vale took part with nine other schools in the North West regional event at the University of Manchester.
